The Volunteer Information Specialsts Committee members help with websites, social media presence, newsletters, award templates, and other projects. The qualifications to earn the VIS pin, bar, and stars are defined in terms of a “service requirement.” A service requirement is 100 hours. Approval is required for purchase.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
This gold-filled pin measures 1" x 1".
For more information about the VIS, please visit the Volunteer Information Specialists Committee webpage.
Once you have your VIS pin, you may choose to earn a gold bar, the blue one star enamel bar, or the white five star enamel bar to attach to the VIS pin. The VIS Committee webpages contain the requirement details.
