DAR Insignia Store Policies


The DAR Insignia Store has temporarily suspended new orders for optional engraving on Insignia products. More than 300 Insignia products are available to purchase without optional engraving, along with a selection of required engraving pins. The DAR Insignia Store plans to offer optional engraving services again soon. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. 

We will continue to accept and fulfill orders, but please be aware customers may experience a delay in shipment due to a backlog of orders. The team is continuing to work through the backlog of existing engraving orders and are dedicated to fulfilling these purchases as quickly as possible. We thank you for your continued patience and support.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19, severely impacting delivery timelines. If you have received an email notification that your order has been shipped but the tracking information shows no update, we ask that you please be patient. It can take 48 hours or more for the tracking to begin updating, as this is only done after USPS has received the package and transported it to their facility for sorting and scanning.

If it has been 15 days or more since your original notification of shipment, we encourage you to file a claim with USPS. Claims for lost packages must be made no later than 60 days after your original notification of shipment.


The DAR Insignia Store ships to the United States and to select U.S. Territories. Any Insignia purchases ship separately from DAR Store and DAR Museum merchandise and include a separate flat rate shipping fee of $8.00. Please allow extra time for engraved and special ordered items to arrive.

To ensure the secure delivery of your purchase, any order over $500 will require a signature for delivery.  

We are currently experiencing a backlog of orders due to COVID-19 staffing restrictions. We are working on orders as quickly as possible, and we thank members for their patience. Please note all DAR Insignia Store items purchased in the same order will ship together; you will not receive your unengraved items separately.

The DAR Insignia Store supports shipping to international destinations.  International shipping rates consist of standard shipping rates + a flat fee of $30 for each shipment.

For shipping to an APO or FPO Address:

Enter either "APO" or "FPO" in the City field and select the appropriate Armed Forces region from the drop-down menu in the State field.

For Example:

To ship to:

Enter "CMR 548, Box 12345" in the Address field, "APO" in the City field, select "Armed Forces Europe" in the State field, and enter "09520" in Zip/Postal Code field.

For shipping to a U.S. Territory:

When completing the shipping address, select the U.S. territory name in the State/Province field, and select "United States" in the Country/Region field.

The DAR Insignia Store ships to the following U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana


Insignia orders that have with a total value of more than $500 will require a signature upon delivery. 


The DAR Insignia Store accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. 

Checks will only be accepted on a case by case basis. Please reach out to one of our Member Service Associates for instructions prior to placing your order. 

The DAR Insignia Store collects applicable sales tax for some states where legally required.


Satisfaction with your purchase is important to us. You may return or exchange ordered items within 15 business days of receipt (except for engraved or special ordered products). Returned items must be in new/unused condition and include all original packaging.

Contact a Member Service Associate by email at insigniastore@dar.org or by phone at (888) 327-1890 to obtain a return authorization and return instructions. No returns will be accepted without a return authorization number.

Once your return shipment has been received and processed, you will receive a return confirmation email and a refund will be issued to the original form of payment.


Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact a Member Service Associate by email at insigniastore@dar.org or by phone at (888) 327-1890 within 5 business days of receipt of any damaged merchandise.


The DAR Insignia Store uses machine engraving for all standard engraving. Hand engraving is not yet available but is a service we hope to offer soon.

Required engraving fields must be completed to add the pin to your shopping cart. Pins with no listing for engraving on the product page cannot be engraved.

The maximum character limit for each pin is listed on the product page. We evaluate the maximum number of characters allowed for each pin based on the pin's size. However, in some case-by-case scenarios, it may be possible to adjust the limit. If your desired engraving text exceeds the set limit, please contact a Member Service Associate for assistance.

Be sure to carefully verify the information entered in the engraving text field. This information is the exact text that will appear on your pin. It cannot be changed after your order has been initiated. Engraved items are not eligible to be returned.

The DAR Insignia Store has partnered with trusted jewelers to offer a selection of pin repair services. The determination of pricing is made once the item has been received and appraised for repair. Repair services may take up to 6 weeks (including transit time). Members elect to have repair services at their own risk. For more information on repair service offerings, please click here.


All Insignia pins are gold-filled unless otherwise noted in the product description.
