Balcony Volunteers provide important assistance for members needing help in Genealogical Research for New Member Applications and Supplementals. Featuring the iconic DAR Library Clock, this pin is a beautiful wear to wear your service proudly.
Members are eligible to wear this pin after completing three years of service as a Balcony Volunteer at Continental Congress or the equivalent. This can include:
- Service as a Balcony Volunteer at an in-person Continental Congress (counts as one year of service)
- Service as an Online Balcony Volunteer for the 2020 Continental Congress (counts as one year of service)
- Completion of four assignments as a Volunteer with the Lineage Research Virtual Support Team (counts as one year of service)
- Completion of four assignments as a Volunteer with the Supplemental Applications Virtual Support Team (counts as one year of service)
Any combination of the above – in-person or online Balcony Volunteer Service and service as a member of either or both the Lineage Research (New Member Applications only) or Volunteer Genealogists (Supplemental Applications only) Virtual Support Teams – may be used to meet the pin eligibility requirements.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
