The Volunteer Information Specialsts Committee members provide assistance on the chapter, state, and national levels by providing technology-related support that benefits DAR. Hours logged by a member may be directly related to her office within DAR, by appointment, or by providing other DAR volunteer work such as websites, social media presence, newsletters, award templates, etc.
Requirement to earn the pin is 100 hours of such service on the chapter, state, or national level.
Requirements to earn the bars:
- 1 star blue enameled bar -> an additional 200 hours of VIS service
- 5 star white enameled bar -> an additional 500 hours of VIS service
Approval required.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
This gold-filled pin measures 1" x 1".
