Thanks to the countless hours of dedicated volunteers, the Patriot Records Project collects data that provides genealogists, history students, researchers, scholars, and teachers with a tool to assist in their study of the Revolutionary War period.
Volunteers who have indexed 10,000 Patriot names for the Patriot Records Project are eligible to purchase this pin. Approval is required to purchase the Patriot Records Project Pin and the bars that attach to it.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
This gold-filled pin measures 1” x 1 1/4”.
A bar with a quill engraved is available for purchase when an additional 20,000 patriot names have been indexed.
As the member continues to index patriot names, she may purchase additional bars engraved with up to 5 quills. When a member has the Patriot Record Project pin and a bar with 5 quills, it symbolizes she has indexed a total of 70,000 names! Wow!
A bar engraved with “Certifier” is also available for members who have served as a Patriot Records Project Certifier for a minimum of two years.
