The Guardian Trust Endowment Fund is a permanently restricted fund, to provide for the preservation, restoration, and conservation of our exquisite and historic complex of buildings at 1776 D Street in Washington D.C. Do you know that, as a Daughter you are the proud owner of the largest complex of historical buildings owned and maintained exclusively by women? What our founders built; we must preserve! As Daughters we are charged to “guard that which is committed to our trust” and to provide security for future generations of Daughters.
This special Guardian Trust donor pin is named in honor of our founder, Ellen Hardin Walworth. Members who donate $25,000 or more to the Guardian Trust Endowment are eligible to purchase and wear this Ellen Hardin Walworth Guardian Trust Campaign pin on the official DAR Insignia ribbon. Members who wish to purchase this pin may make a single donation of at least $25,000, or as a Sustaining Supporter, designate donations that total a minimum of $25,000 to the Guardian Trust Endowment. Approval is required to purchase this pin.
When this donor pin is worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon, it must be placed according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
When not worn on the official ribbon, DAR members may only wear this donation pin as a brooch, not on a right-side ribbon. When non-members wear this donation pin, they should demonstrate pride in all DAR stands for by wearing it only when dressed nicely and in a respectful manner.
