The First Generation DAR Member pin requires pre-verification and approval by the National Vice Chair - First Generation, prior to purchase. To request approval, complete the verification form here (click link for form).
To be eligible for the First Generation pin, a member must have been the first in her family to join DAR from her grandparents' generation down (grandmothers, mother, sisters, aunts, first-cousins, and their descendants), to her own descendants (children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). A member who meets these qualifications may also earn the pin if she simultaneously submitted her initial DAR member application or was admitted to DAR simultaneously with another relative. Member national numbers do not need to be consecutive in such case. Please see the FAQs attached to the verification form or on the DAR member's website for more information. This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
