The Charter Member Pin with Organizing Member Bar is reserved exclusively for organizing members of a new DAR chapter who were members of the new chapter on the date the chapter organizes per confirmation by the National Board of Management. Approval is required to purchase.
If a woman joins a new newly chartered chapter within the first year it received its charter, but after the date the charter was issued, she will need to purchase the Charter Chapter Member Pin without the Organizing Member Bar.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
This gold-filled pin measures 1 3/4" x 1" before the bar is added.
