The DAR Youth Leadership Medal, consisting of a Medal, Bar and 8.5" x 11" cream-colored certificate, recognizes youth in grades 5 through 11 (one medal per grade per school). The 1.25" bronze medal features a bust of George Washington draped on a red, white, and blue ribbon. The certificate includes the DAR Insignia and "National Society Daughters of the American Revolution" embossed in black.
The Medal and Certificate may also be awarded to youth service and patriotic organizations, or members, who fulfill the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism, such as scouts, police cadets, and other community service organizations. The DAR Youth Leadership Medal should be worn on the right (non-Insignia) side when worn by an NSDAR member. The DAR Youth Leadership Medal/Certificate is sold as a set and is approved at the chapter level.
The document jackets are available and sold separately. A template for the certificate can be found here in templates.
