The 1890 Annual Giving Circle commemorates the founding of the NSDAR by recognizing those who give to the General Fund, allowing NSDAR to allocate funds to the areas of greatest need such as providing the day-to-day care, staffing and security necessary to maintain one of the largest buildings owned and operated exclusively by women.

Members contributing $500 or more to the NSDAR General Fund during the fiscal year—January 1 through December 31—are recognized in the 1890 Annual Giving Circle and are eligible to purchase this 1890 Giving Circle pin. This can be done in two ways: Make cumulative donations totaling at least $500 OR become a Sustaining Supporter making continuous monthly donations totaling a minimum of $500 for the fiscal year. Pins may be ordered once the $500 minimum level of giving has been reached. Approval required to purchase this pin.

When this donor pin is worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon, it must be placed according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.

When not worn on the official ribbon, DAR members may only wear this donation pin as a brooch, not on a right-side ribbon. When non-members wear this donation pin, they should demonstrate pride in all DAR stands for by wearing it only when dressed nicely and in a respectful manner.

This gold-filled pin measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4".

The 1890 Giving Circle Pin is purchased only once. However, for members who give a minimum qualifying donation during a single fiscal year, there are opportunities to purchase the following bars to hang from the 1890 Giving Circle Pin. These optional bars become available to be added to the 1890 Giving Circle Pin after the close of the fiscal year in which the minimum qualifying donation is made. The donation year is engraved on the bar.

Topaz - $500-$999
Pearl - $1,000-$2,499
Ruby - $2,500-$4,999

Approval is required to purchase both the 1890 Giving Circle pin and the 1890 Giving Circle Engraved Bars.
