The annual National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC and the Daughters of the American Revolution go together like fireworks and fun! Every DAR member is welcome to assist and/or participate in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC and after doing so, she becomes eligible to purchase and wear this beautiful Independence Day Parade pin on her official Insignia ribbon. Approval is required for purchase and service from 2001-present is verified by the Commemorative Events National Vice Chair of the Independence Day Parade.
Members who do not already qualify for the Independence Day Parade Pin are urged to make plans to stay a few days after Continental Congress concludes to enjoy the sites and history of our nation’s capital before participating in the parade on July 4th!
Five (5) years of verified participation qualifies a member to purchase the 5 Star White Enamel Bar that is worn attached to the Independence Day Parade pin.
This pin may only be worn by DAR members on the official Insignia ribbon according to the most current "Placement of DAR Insignia and Pins on Official Ribbon" document found on the Insignia Committee webpage.
This gold-filled pin measures 1 1/10" x 1".
