Community Service Awards provide a unique opportunity for chapters and states to provide non-competitive recognition to worthy individuals and organizations for outstanding voluntary service. Examples of previously recognized service include unpaid achievements in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic, historical, citizenship, or environmental conservation endeavors.

A chapter may present no more than two (2) awards per NSDAR year (January 1-December 31). Community Service Awards recognize service activities outside of DAR. Thus, DAR members are eligible to receive this honor as long as their service is not related to their DAR activities. This award is only sold as a set.

This Community Service Award pin and certificate set may be ordered upon receipt of the approval letter from the State Chair of the Community Awards Committee. Upload the nomination approval letter as there is no additional documentation required.

The document jackets are available and sold separately.

For more information, visit the DAR’s Community Service Awards Committee webpage.
